While riders must be residents of Cape Girardeau County to qualify for free rides for senior citizens, the demand response service is open to everyone regardless of residential, disability, or income statuses for any reason.

While fares vary based on pick-up and drop-off locations, senior citizens (60+) who are residents of Cape Girardeau County can ride free within the County. To learn more about fare details or to register for senior services, please contact us.

  • What is Demand Response transportation?

    Demand Response is a flexible transportation service offered by CGCTA that allows passengers to request rides as needed, rather than following a fixed route or schedule.

  • How do I schedule a Demand Response ride?

    For same-day requests, riders should contact our Dispatch department option 1 approximately 1 hour prior to their desired pick-up time. This does not guarantee the time being requested, but our Dispatch team will do their best to accommodate. Otherwise, same-day requests are processed in the order they are received, and there may be long wait times. Dialysis patients and other medical pick-ups are prioritized.


    To schedule a ride in advance, riders should contact our Scheduling department, option 2. We schedule up to 2 weeks out and require at least 1 business day in advance. It is recommended to schedule rides as early as possible, as schedules fill up quite quickly.


    Riders can also request same-day and future rides online. Just scan the QR code to be linked to our ride request platform.
